Size is an organisation that recently conducted the National sizing Survey in UK.  This is the first national survey since 1950.  This survey is named as “Size UK”. This survey was sponsored by many firms like Marks and Spencers, John Lewis, House of Fraser , Redcats, Tesco, Speedo and so on. The purpose of this survey is to find the accurate size and body measurements of an average UK native. Roughly, 11,000 volunteers were subjected to this survey. 3D body scanners were used to extract the around 130 body measurements from each volunteer.

This survey was supported by the government of UK along with 17 UK retailers and leading technology companies. Accurate data regarding the size and shape of the volunteers are available online. You can get them online from the UK anthropometrics web-database. Size Uk survey has given insight into the size of an average English. As a result, the retailers dealing with fabrics and dress materials are in process of amending the size of the garment specifications.

They have also released a new chart that shows the size and measurement of the targeted customers.  The specifications in the charts will help the other clothing retailers to make the necessary amendments.
